Fasting is an element of natural medicine that is used as a treatment and therapeutic measure. It can be intertwined with all kinds of diets, and its beneficial effect he organism was known in antiquity. The mildest and therefore the easiest the form in use is intermittent fasting.

Intermittent fasting is a diet that is becoming more and more popular. It consists in maintaining certain time frames, i.e. hours when we can eat and those when we need to let our digestive system rest. This form of rest from eating complements very well with various diets.

Intermittent fasting rules

Intermittent fasting can be used on its own by choosing your own eating window.
which is the best time to eat meals. The overriding rules that must be followed are the number of dishes no more than three and no snacking between meals.

Each of us has our individual mode of functioning, one starts work very early in the morning, someone else much later, so each of us can define eight hours a day during which he eats meals according to his needs. We leave the evening and night for the regeneration of our body, which is extremely important to maintain health, says Anna Kobylińska, the author of the project Understanding Health, a dietician in traditional medicine and St. Hildegard, who emphasizes that we are constantly subjected to food stimuli as a society, which causes constant snacking. As a result, there is a problem with maintaining the proper level of insulin in the body, one of the most important hormones. As a result, we get fat, feel bad, tired and irritable.

Intermittent fasting is an excellent answer, a recipe for a large disorder in the body, constant spikes and bursts of insulin. If it is not a therapeutic fast, which imposes on us the possibility of consuming strictly defined products, additionally within the defined caloric limits, then during its use we can reach for almost any products, of course excluding unhealthy ones. It is worth limiting carbohydrates, giving up highly processed products, fast food, stimulants, the expert in the field of dietetics explains and adds that it is worth consuming vegetables in large amounts, fruits with a low glycemic index, such as avocados, lemons, grapefruits, raspberries, blackberries and apples (recommended variety Szara Reneta).

The most popular is the 8-hour nutritional window, during this time we eat three meals, during the remaining sixteen we do not eat anything, but we replenish fluids, which are also extremely important. It is worth drinking water at the temperature of our body, various infusions of herbs, freshly squeezed juices.

What is extremely convenient about this post is that we do not impose any pre-determined hours during which we can reach for food. Therefore, our eating window may be closed from 6:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., as well as from 10:00 or even 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. or 7:00 p.m. Thanks to this, we can freely adapt the post to our duties that we undertake during the day.

Benefits for the body

The use of intermittent fasting brings many benefits to our body. Anna Kobylińska lists the most important ones:

you can remove the folds accumulated on the abdomen, and seriously get a significant decrease in body weight, of course paying attention to the caloric content of the prepared meals;

the amount of cholesterol secreted by our body, including triglycerides, will be regulated;

as a result of the use of fasting, the correct proportion between the so-called good and bad cholesterol;

the deposition of atherosclerotic plaque in our blood vessels will be inhibited

people struggling with diabetes will have their insulin secretion regulated;

we will get rid of oxidative stress, i.e. imbalance between oxidation and reduction processes in our body;

we will lower the level of free radicals that damage our proteins;

we will reduce inflammation in the body;

we will start the processes of autophagy, the body will remove all kinds of dysfunctions by itself.

Let's write our health in the post, because, as you can see, the benefits of introducing intermittent fasting into our daily lives and functioning are enormous.
